Universiti Teknologi Malaysia #93 in Times Higher Education's BRICS & emerging economies rankings 2015

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is the only Malaysian university that was included in the Times Higher Education BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2015. The university is the country's oldest engineering and technological public university.

UTM was number 93 in THE BRICS and Emerging Economies Rankings 2015, but Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) which featured in last year's rankings at number 77 and 95, respectively, did not make the cut this time.

The list follows the same methodology as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, covering teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

According to THE, there was lower participation from Malaysian varsities for this year's rankings. BRICS refers to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
