According to head of research, associate professor Dr Soib Taib from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering USM, the device is installed in the engine and produces complete combustion of the fuel. This helps motorist especially on long journeys.

He added that the gadget has a life span of up to five years and can be modified to suit various engine capacities and vehicles including school busses, fishing boats, and trucks.

Delighted with the new invention, USM’s vice-chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr Omar Osman said they will use the device on all vehicles in the campus for a trial period of between six and nine months.
