Universiti Malaysia Terengganu offers forensic science

Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) is set to introduce a new course in forensic science this September. According to UMT vice-chancellor Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr Ibrahim Komoo, the course is offered under the Centre for Fundamental Education and Liberal and is open to Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) personnel.

He added that UMT had conducted studies on forensics development for the past four years but was done unofficially. With the combined efforts of RMP and UMT, it's expected that more research will be produced in the field, said Komoo.

Among the courses were drug, commercial and cyber crimes and involved conducting self-created forensic studies while others were based on methods from developed countries.
