UniMy inks deal with University of Melbourne

The University Malaysia of Computer Science & Engineering (UniMy) has signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Melbourne (UoM) through its School of Engineering. According to the agreement, UoM shall be:

  • The external examiner for UniMy end-of-semester student examinations;
  • Act as quality assurance consultants on review of curriculum, engagement of engineers without borders, capstone project, assist in the interview of PhD student applicants and compliance
  • Provider of internships and research opportunities for students and staff

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Signing the Agreement at the UoM campus ground was Professor Datuk Dr Halimaton Hamdan, Vice Chancellor of UniMy, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iven Mareels, Dean, Melbourne School of Engineering and Ms. Mariann Fee, CEO of UoM Commercial Ltd.

“Our partnership with UniMy will inevitably forge an ongoing alliance between science, innovation and industry amongst students and faculty members within the two countries. At UoM, we are committed to help students expand their horizons. Two of our best academic staffs, Professor Rao Kotagiri and Professor Andrew Ooi will be involved in this collaboration effort working closely with the team in UniMy,” said Prof.  Dr Ir. Iven Mareels, Dean, Melbourne School of Engineering.

UoM is rated the No.1 University in Australia, with a formidable reputation in IT, Computer Science and Engineering, by the QS World University Rankings.
