Taylor’s School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (TCHT) the only Hospitality School  awarded Tier 6: Outstanding by MOHE.

Taylor's University was rated the only “Tier 6: Outstanding” rating in the inaugural D-SETARA rating that was announced by Dato’ Seri Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin during his New Year's address. This recognition is a result of the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (TCHT) being reviewed under the rating system’s Hospitality and Tourism discipline, cementing TCHT’s long-standing reputation as a quality educational provider.

As one of the largest and most established hospitality and tourism management school in Southeast Asia, TCHT takes pride in consistently producing high calibre, industry-ready graduates who can deliver excellent performance in their workplace.

Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said, Vice Chancellor and President, Taylor's University said “We are extremely honored and proud to be the first ever institution to be rated ‘Tier 6: Outstanding’ by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Achieving a Tier 6 rating is a highly significant and defining moment for us as we constantly strive to be the best. The recognition of TCHT as worthy of a Tier 6 rating is a result of our perseverance and dedication to constantly be better and strive to provide the highest quality of undergraduate teaching and learning.”

Before achieving the Tier 6 rating, TCHT already had 60-odd awards under its belt which include the Gold Award 2008 (Education & Training) from Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA); voted “Most Popular Private College/University in Malaysia” for Hospitality & Tourism in the Malaysian Student Survey 2009; and Honorary Award 2010-2012 presented by the 9th Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) Malaysia.

“With this honorary achievement, it serves as an encouragement for us to continue to scale to greater heights and propel us to achieve our mission of becoming Top Employers’ Top Choice University by 2016,” added Professor Hassan.

The identified disciplines for D-SETARA are Hospitality and Tourism; Engineering; Health Sciences; and Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy.
