It was double the joy for Taylor’s University, clinching two awards at the Putra Brand Awards 2013 recently. Taylor’s University received the Putra Brand Gold Award in the Education and Learning Category in recognition of the university’s outstanding performance in the education sphere.

“We are deeply honoured for the trust and support Malaysians have for Taylor’s University which resulted in the achievement of these prestigious awards. It is a clear indication that we are on the right track to achieving our goal of becoming a Top Employers’ Top Choice University by 2016,” said Vice Chancellor and President of Taylor’s University, Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan Said.
A Gold award winner in the Education and Learning Category for the fourth consecutive year, Taylor’s University is the first university to be named a Putra Brand Icon. Putra Brand Icon honoured brands that consistently netted gold awards over the last four years. Taylor’s University is one of the 12 recipients of this brand new award. Both awards are the latest addition to the university’s long list of accolades.
“Taylor’s University has always been pro-active in efforts to raise standards and lead in education excellence. Towards this end, we work in close partnership with top local and international institutions, actively engage with industry players and continuously revise our teaching and learning techniques, enabling us to keep in-step with the changing teaching-learning environment,” he explained.
Other awards and recognitions garnered by Taylor’s University in recent years include most recently, “Tier 6: Outstanding” rating in the inaugural D-SETARA rating by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE); the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Award (2011 and 2012); the ‘Tier 5: Excellent’ rating by the Ministry of Higher Education in the biennial SETARA results by the Ministry of Higher Education for the second consecutive time in 2011; and Pertubuhan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM) Gold Award in Category 5 (Education), to name a few.
“The accolades reinforce the recognition of our contribution in the field of higher education and serve to motivate us even more in our quest for excellence in education. It also further strengthened our position as a university of choice and illustrated Taylor’s solid place in the hearts of many Malaysians. Rest assured that Taylor’s University remains committed to producing capable graduates ready to take their place in the global arena,” concluded Professor Dato’ Dr. Hassan.
Established in 2009, the Putra Brand Awards is a brand valuation award measured by consumer preferences. The annual awards is organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and endorsed by the Malaysian External Trade Development Corp (MATRADE). The 2013 Putra Brand Awards winners were chosen via an online survey by 6,000 respondents nationwide making it the largest and most prestigious consumer award.
The process of determining Malaysia’s Top brands require an evaluation based on a stringent set of criteria, which include international brand expression, innovative range of products, branding and product development, business size, ADEX track record for the past year and competitive strength in the industry. The survey, conducted at the end of 2012, also considered consumers’ perception on brand engagement, relevance and accessibility.
