Perdana University names new VC

Prof. Datuk Dr Sothi Rachagan has been appointed vice-chancellor of Perdana University. He previously served at Universiti Malaya (UM) as Faculty of Law dean and Nilai University as vice president for Academic Affairs.

 

Perdana University board of governors chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohan Swami said Prof Sothi’s attributes, qualifications and experience are ideal to take the university to its next phase. Through his leadership, new faculties and programmes are expected to be introduced in the near term.

Presently, Prof. Sothi serves on the International Advisory Panel on the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and is currently president of the International Association of Consumer Law.

Perdana University currently offers four year graduate entry programme in collaboration with the John Hopkins University school of Medicine, and the PU-RCSI School of Medicine which offers a five-year programme in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).
