Manipal Int. University to supply talents for AirAsia

• Manipal International University (MIU) will develop talent pool for AirAsia Bhd. This is in accordance to the low-cost carrier's expansion plan.
• Presently, AirAsia has a workforce of 10,000 employees across the region. More than half of it is based in Malaysia.

AirAsia plans to increase staff size by 17 to 20 per cent per year. New talent will be hired to fill up vacancies in technical, engineering, logistics, marketing and branding.

The agreement involves MIU to align relevant syllabus with competencies and softskills required by AirAsia. Moreover, students of MIU will have internship/training and employment opportunities with AirAsia.

Manipal Group started in Malaysia in 1997 through Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC). Both MMMC and MIU have different local partners.
