Malaysian universities are increasingly popular among foreign students.
The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Education and Culture Attachment in Malaysia has warned high school graduates to be wary when pursuing universities in Malaysia.
Prof. Ir. Ari Purbayanto reported that some of the universities had failed to organize related visa matters with Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS) which is the sole Government-appointed body responsible for issuing visas to foreign students studying in private institutions (since 2014) and local universities (since 2015).
He advises that Indonesian students should be more aware of the expiration date on their visas.
