Malaysian Ministry Youth and Sports plans to build sports university

Discussions on a new sports university is still ongoing between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and a government-linked company. The sports university would follow a public-private partnership business model.

The sports university would serve athletes' special needs, as their training schedules clashed with classes conducted in normal universities. It is also expected to help athletes coming coming from poor families.

However the setting up of the university is not a priority as Government has to deal with the country's deficit.

On other news, no development has been made since the announcement of a sports university to be built in Malacca.
