Malaysia recognises public and private universities in Taiwan

  • MQA has recognised 58 ad 99 public and private higher education institutions in Taiwan
  • SoC pact helps prevent Malaysian students from studying in unrecognised universities

The Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), responsible for quality assurance of higher education for both public and private sectors, has signed the Statement  of Confidence (SoC) agreement with the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT).

Under this agreement, all institutions approved by HEEACT will be recognised by MQA.  SoC covers bachelor-level programmes and qualifications accredited by each agency.

To date, HEEACT has recognised 58 public and 99 private institutions. HEEACT  is the agency responsible for assuring the academic quality of post-secondary institutions in Taiwan.

According to Deputy Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Hou Kok Chung, as quoted in the Star, the SoC will help prevent students from going to institutions which are not recognised by the Malaysian government.

  • Air Force Institute of Technology
  • Central Police University
  • National Central University
  • National Cheng Kung University
  • National Chengchi University
  • National Chi Nan University
  • National Chio Tung University
  • National Chung Cheng University
  • National Chung Hsing University
  • and so on....
