The 2015 Universitas U21 annual ranking of national systems is produced by researchers at the University of Melbourne. The ranking measures (1) resources, i.e. the level of government and private expenditure towards higher education; (2) environment, (3) connectivity i.e. the flow of information between the higher education sector and society, and (4) output, including research output, impact and the employability of graduates.
The overall ranking is achieved by combining the four factors.
The top three spots of the rankings were occupied by the United States, Switzerland and Denmark. These were followed by United Kingdom (8), Singapore (9) and Australia (10).
