IPB offers scholarship to SPM leavers affected by floods

The Baitulmal Professional Institute (IPB) is offering scholarships to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers from poor families affected by the recent floods. The scholarships help students to pursue their certificate or diploma studies at the institute.IBP

The institute's chief executive officer (CEO) Dr Syed Omar Syed Agil said it aimed to help Muslim Bumiputeras who cannot afford to continue their studies due to hardship.

"This scholarship includes tuition fee exemption and subsistence allowance of up to RM3,000 which includes dormitory rent per semester," he said.

Elaborating, he said the amount of subsistence allowance is granted according to the family income, students from low-income families will receive RM1,500 while students from poor families will receive RM3,000.

Syed Omar said there were seven majors offered at IPB including Pre Commerce, Diploma in Business Studies, Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Accounting of Information System and Diploma in Computer Science.
