The International College of Automotive (ICAM) in Pahang is looking to upgrade its status to university in the next 12 months. It is the country's only centre of education for automotive.

With an investment of RM350 million, ICAM expects to receive 7,000 more students within the next five years, according to DRB-Hicom group managing director Tan Sri Mohd Khamil Jamil. Moreover, they plan to enrol foreign students into their automotive courses. They expect to have more students from Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

Currently, ICAM has about 700 students enrolled in eight of its diploma courses, along with degree programme in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University, UK.  ICAM is also finalising course modules with UK's Loughborough University and Italy's Politenico di Torino.
