Education Minister pledges to help struggling university students

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh pledges responsibility for struggling university students facing financial difficulties.

He underlined that the ministry and universities are carrying out various initiatives to help students. Among them are the National Higher Education Fund (PTPTN) and the 1Malaysia Student Discount Card that gives students 60% discounts on selected items.

"My personal commitment is to ensure that no university student goes hungry in [the] future," he said.

He made this statement amidst growing concerns regarding the alarmingly high cases of university students struggling with money and meals due to high costs of living.
