Finding employment in this economy can be challenging. There are currently over 44,000 young people in Malaysia who are not connected to work.
Hence, the Human Resources Ministry believes that these young people could begin changing their lives if they were given an opportunity to start early.
The ministry is considering to expand its Holiday Job Placement programme to universities nationwide to prepare graduates to become high market value manpower resources.
According to Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, the working programme during semester break, in collaboration with a private company which currently started in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), was believed to be able to prepare students before they go to the real job market.
"Students are able to apply their theoretical learning by way of practical, with the employwer, as what they have learnt in class is insufficient to ensure they are able to face jobs in the real world," he said.
