The Innomic team consisted of four undergraduates- Vicent Hoh Wen Xuan, Muhammad Luqman Ariff Zulkifli, Winnie Low Yin Peng and Nur Alysha Balqis Rosman, as reported in a statement by UTP.
According to the statements, there were 30 dynamic teams that the Innomic Team battled against through three stages namely Millionaire Hedge Fund, Surviving CEO and Life as a trader, carrying status quo, post-Covid-19 and a volatile market as context.
The students were given a heavy task to develop an investment portfolio and provide a risk manage plan to convince fund and shareholders to evaluate financial markets for the first stage.
The second stage consist of a test on criteria such as financial communication, sound judgement, team dynamism, negotiation skills, and decision making skills, as reported by the statement by UTP.
The team were then tested on Mathematics and Analytical skills, confidence, IT skills and interest in financial markets to make a sound investment that would maximize the return on investment (ROI) where each team ranked accordingly, in order to succeed in the final stage.
The Team Innomic had minimal exposure to financial market compared to other markets hence, they went for intensive training and simulation session.
According to Haryani Harun, who is tasked on management and leadership, winning the challenge is a bonus but the vital aspect was the experience gained by the team which was demonstrated by the effort and courage depicted throughout the challenge.
Haryani also expressed her gratitude towards Encik Schazeril Shamsuddin, Lead, Design Change, Transformation Office, Petronas Chemicals Group on his part as an external auditor for team Innomic.
