The food that we consume daily actually plays an important role in determining your academicsuccess. However, many students overlook its importance. Now, let's turn over a new leaf and take a look at the kinds of food and diet that can help you excel in examinations!
Studies have shown that fish contains Omega 3 fatty acids that are good in improving the functions of the brain, heart, joints and overall health. There are countless recipes that you can try such as fish nuggets, lemon steamed fish, even baked or grilled fish. Yummy!
Kids around the world are often 'terrified' with this tiny green tree. Many people are unaware of the fact that broccoli is jam-packed with vitamins, especially vitamin K. Vitamin K is highly essential in increasing your cognitive function and accelerating your understanding when studying. Have you tried putting broccoli in mashed potatoes? It's really scrumptious!
If previously you always munch on ice cream and crackers while studying, try replacing them with peanuts instead. Nuts contain vitamin E which is good for the health of our minds. It is always a great choice to eat nutritious nuts like cashews, pecans, almonds and walnuts. If you want to be more creative, try making granola or chocolate dipped peanut. Tasty!
There is a strong evidence suggesting that lycopene found in tomatoes may help prevent free radicals from damaging the brain cells. These free radicals, if not prevented, will make you forget easily, difficult to focus in class and lessen problem-solving skills. Dislike directly eating tomatoes? Why not try tomato juice?
A healthy and quality breakfast is very important to ensure your day runs smoothly. "What if I have nasi lemak and chicken rendang as breakfast, is that considered quality?" Sorry, the answer is no. Yes, nasi lemak is indeed delicious but it contains less nutrition. How about you try half boiled egg or oat with milk. It is not only fulfilling, but also highly beneficial for your mental health.
Fruits are among the best food for your brain. Fruits like blueberries have antioxidants and essential nutrients. "Blueberries are expensive! Can't I just eat local fruits?" Of course you can!. Try to practice eating a banana , papaya or apples every day, you would feel more energetic and active.
Actually a huge meal three times a day can make us lethargic. For those who are preparing for examinations, you should try eating frequently but in small portions. For instance, eat bread with peanut butter and jelly as well as banana or grilled chicken sandwich. This helps to reduce sleepiness when doing your revision. Give it a try!
