Details on bursaries for top STPM students should be announced soon, said MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon. He added that students need enough time to submit enrolment applications to local universities, teaching institutes, and vocational courses which end on 7 April.
"Until today, we have not received any updated information about bursaries from the ministry despite attempts by our secretariat to contact the officials there," he said to The Star reporters. Usually, announcements happen before the SPM results were released.
The awarding of bursaries started in 2012. Students who obtained 9A+ and above in SPM would be given financial incentives to cover costs for their pre-university studies (A-levels, STPM, matriculation, college foundations, IB diploma) at public and selected private institutions.
