The Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and IBM Malaysia announced an academic collaboration to develop the next generation of technology savvy graduates through the sharing of skills, best practices and knowledge.

The aim of this collaboration is to help APU students to meet future industry requirements. The new memorandum of understanding entails the following:

  • APUwill expand its curriculum offering to include IBM technologies in mobile application design and development, cloud computing, analytics and security.
  • Lecturers and students undertaking the IBM-related curriculum will be provided with software, courseware, instructor training, teaching topics and professional certification courtesy of IBM.

This new collaboration fortifies APU's existing partnership with IBM since 2011. APUvia IBM's academic initiative began to embed IBM Rational software in the courses taught in the Faculty of Computing Engineering, and Technology (FCET). The university's lecturers and students leveraged IBM Rational to design, develop and test software. The courses also included the model -driven development platform and application design and development with Java Enterprise Edition (EE) platform.
