Anti-corruption subject to be introduced in universities
- The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has proposed that young Malaysians should be taught to fight corruption at the university level.
- According to the Director of National Key Area (NKRA) for Corruption, Datuk Hisham Nordin, countries such as South Korea and Singapore have anti-corruption subject in schools.
- For some countries, to help the state get rid of corruption, basic education system would be a good start.
- If this gets implemented, an anti-corruption cadet corps secretariat in universities, similar to the police and army cadet movements, would be established in schools.
- Hisham added that education programmes would also be extended to Members of Parliament.
