Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS) is taking serious steps to become an international player in the education field. It has acquired a former campus of Middlesex University in Trent Park in North London.
This acquisition will help expand the college's programmes to both Malaysians and international students. They hope to attract international students to their London campus and have them study in Malaysia as well.
The campus features nine buildings sitting on 52 acres of land and is worth RM146 million. It will begin operations in October this year with the first batch of 300 students from their campus in Malaysia.
According to Professor Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir, founder and president of AUCMS, during the initial stages they will have a credit transfer programme so AUCMS students in Malaysia will have opportunities to study in London for three to six months.
He added that another RM48.7 million-RM97.4 million will be needed to renovate the building's structures but most of its buildings are ready, complete with amenities, teaching facilities and equipment.
