Allianze University College Medical Sciences (AUCMS) could be in deep financial crisis as their academic and administrative staffs have not received their salaries for the past four months.
According to a report from the Star Online, the university college is unable to pay the staff due to alleged financial woes. The situation happened when Tabung Haji withdrew as its strategic partner on July 3, 2012, said an employee who spoke on condition of anonymity.
With the employer's poor reputation, some staff are unable to have their bank loans approved and have to sell their belongings. Other employees resort to loan sharks.
The anonymous employee said that the university college is now in the brink of ceasing operations if the lecturers decided to stop teaching altogether.
In response to this report, AUCMS president Datuk Dr Zainuddin Md Wazir said that business is running as usual. However, he confirmed that the institution is going through some 'financial hiccups' but assured that they have found a solution and would make payments, together with compensation, as early as next month.
