5,200 Additional Places in Public Universities and Politeknik for 2013/14 intake

• 5,200 new seats for 2013/14 intake
• Specially allocated to poor students

The government has decided to offer 5,200 extra seats in 20 public universities and 32 Politeknik's this year (2013/14 intake). Each of the 52 institutions (20 public universities and 32 Politeknik) will offer an additional 100 seats. These seats will be offered to students from the lower socio-economic background who have obtained the minimum university entry requirements but are unable to compete with other students within the merit system.
