3 Japanese universities plan to set up branch campuses in Malaysia

Tokyo Science University along with two more Japanese universities may have their branch campuses set up in Malaysia. This was conveyed by Japan's Education Minister Shiomkura Hakubun on the sidelines of the 8th ASEAN Education Minister's Meeting (ASED-8) last Friday.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also the Education Minister, they would study the proposals from the Japanese universities. These universities plan to use Japanese as the medium of instruction.

Aside from this, the Education Ministry received a similar propsal to set up a Korean Institute for High School to care to South Koreans living in Malaysia.
