15,793 students scored full A's in SPM

  • 13,721 public school students and 2,072 students from private schools scored full A's for their SPM
  • 481 students from public and private schools scored an A+ for all subjects

Results for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) was released today. Students who scored full A's for their SPM amounted to 15,793, an increase of 714 candidates compared to 2011. Students who scored A+ for all their subjects totaled 481.

Despite these glowing numbers, the National Average Grade (GPN) dipped slightly from 5.04 in 2011 to 5.08 in 2012.

In terms of subject performance, 51 subjects showed improvement, including Mathematics and Moral Education.

A total of 472,541 candidates took the SPM last year, which was held on 5 November to 6 December.
