So you're finally done with school, and SPM is over. A billion things run through your mind, while you sit at home wondering what you can do. Well, here are some things you can do with your time, you know, instead of bumming around at home.
5.Go on a road trip with your friends
The friends you got so close to in school, well odds are you may go down separate paths in the near future. It's sad, but that's the reality of life. People have to grow apart to grow up. So why not make memories that'll last by finally going on a trip with these friends one last time . It doesn't have to be somewhere too far either. The key to it all? Plan it, then make it happen, simple. Examples would include Penang, Cameron Highlands or perhaps Perhentian Island. Just remember to stay safe at all times!
4. Read a book
When was the last time you actually picked up and finished a book? In this day and age, TV has become so popular with new series popping up faster than than McDonald's outlets. So why not do something different, and head to your nearest bookstore and get an interesting novel, or borrow one from a sibling or a friend. You'll stimulate your mind, sharpen your creativity and enhance your concentration, all in one go. Some suggestions from us : Beat the Reaper by Josh Bazell, What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman and The Mark and the Void by Paul Murray.
3. Get a part-time job
You want the latest iPhone don't you ? But it's too expensive, so you sit at home and weep at the fate that has befallen you. But you know what you could do instead ? Go out and get a part-time job. When you earn your own money, you tend to learn to become more responsible and frugal, eventually learning that perhaps, splurging all your hard earned cash on a gadget may not be what you want to do. Still want to buy it though ? Then go ahead, a purchase you make with money you earned yourself will give you satisfaction like no other. Just don't get too caught up and forget your future plans regarding your impending career.
2. Volunteer
So often these days, teenagers complain about how bored they are, that there's nothing to do. Well , I have news for you. There's a big wide world out there, and in it, there are a ton of non-profit organizations looking for a pair of extra hands to help them with their charity events. Helping out the less fortunate can be good for both your character and your soul. As different organizations have various projects at any one time, you can check out these websites to find out how you can help.

1.Plan for your future
The number ONE thing you should do over your break ? Without a doubt, it has to be planning for your future. Quite a number of teenagers don't really put any thought into what they really want to do. Going on a whim or fancy, they choose courses that don't suit them , and only find out much later down the line. So don't do that, spend your time doing extensive research about what career you want to pursue, find out if you think it suits you, then decide what courses you need to take and their respective requirements. I might sound tedious. It might sound boring, and a tad bit of work. But this is your future we're talking about, and in that endeavor, shortcuts jus't won't cut it. Plus , we here at afterschool.my have an extensive library of information plastered across our pages, and able and willing individuals ready to answer questions you may have.
