Other than government pre-university studies, SPM leavers also have the choice to pursue tertiary education in private pre-university courses.

1. A-levels

A-levels

A-Levels aka Advanced Level course is a pre-university course offered by private institutions of higher learning.

A-levels is currently the most popular private pre-university programme in Malaysia, and with over 40 subjects to choose from it is considered one of the most flexible pre-university programme in the world!

A-Levels are considered to be equivalent to Form 6 in the UK. It is popular as being a gateway to studying any course in any part of the world, as the scope for A-Levels is very wide.

2. College Foundations

College foundations is a pre-university programme offered by private institutions of higher learning. Also referred as feeder courses, college foundations are designed to prepare students for the subjects and courses that they will be undertaking at a degree level.

You can also apply for a PTPTN loan, provided you take your college foundations in one of these institutions:

  • Multimedia University (MMU)
  • Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)
  • Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP)
  • UNITAR International University (UNITAR)
