All the school –leavers can enroll in a Foundation /Pre University Program to get a fair understanding of the university education as well as make themselves ready to face the actual challenge associated with the university education.

All the school –leavers can enroll in a Foundation /Pre University Program to get a fair understanding of the university education as well as make themselves ready to face the actual challenge associated with the university education. <h6 class="common-heading">Name of Course: PUC/ Foundation</h6><h6 class="common-heading">Duration of Course: 1 year</h6><h6 class="common-heading">Eligibility: Matriculation/ Class 10</h6><h3 class="common-heading">Basics or Overview</h3>If you are preparing to enter into a university, then taking up a short Pre Degree or Pre University Course could be the best option for you. A Pre Degree Course or PUC is the first choice of all those candidates who are looking out to enter into a degree course after school education. The PUC degrees are specially very useful for all those candidates who are opting for a 10 year school and move on to the degree courses after their 2 years of PUC completed from any junior college.<h3 class="common-heading">Opportunities for Career Growth after PUC</h3>Those who successfully apply for the PUC after their 10 years of schooling are ready to apply for several streams of degree courses through the government organized common entrance test. The students can enroll themselves in a variety of programs through a Pre University Course such as –Bahelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Management, if they belong to Commerce stream; Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Social Sciences, if they belong to an Arts stream; Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Pharmacy; If they belong to Science stream, then Bachelor of Science and in case of Mathematics/ Science Stream, it will be Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Agriculture or Medicine respectively.<h3 class="common-heading">What to choose?</h3>Students can get a number of colleges in Malaysia offering a Pre University Degree Course or Pre Degree Courses. However, it becomes necessary for all the prospective students to make a right choice in their search for a suitable college. For instance, FTMS College offers Foundation Course or Pre University Course of one year duration in Business Information Technology. The foundation or Pre University Courses are offered by both government funded institutions as well as private colleges. The students who are planning to give at least one year to their Pre Degree Courses should take up the Foundation Courses. On the other hand, a bridging course will be just a semester for you to complete. Some of the international universities offer direct entry based Foundation Programs that can give a direct entry to the students under the second year of the undergraduate or post graduate programs that they wish to enroll themselves into. </div>

The Chinese Cultural Night 2025 was a magical and mesmerizing night that witness the students of KYUEM embracing and diving into the fascinating culture and traditions of the Chinese people. This event was held in the Saad Square, and it featured elements and activities that are engraved in the Chinese culture. This evening provided the perfect opportunity for cultural exposure to occur in KYUEM, widening students&rsquo; perspectives and allowing more acceptance towards differences in communities.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/images/67b843b10d196_1740129201.jpg" alt="" width="560" height="373" />One of the spotlights of the night was the calligraphy art station. In Chinese traditions, calligraphy is deeply tied to the Confucian values, as well as the embodiment of harmony and balance, as the brushstrokes must flow smoothly with both precision and creativity. During the event, students had the chance to learn the rules, apply strategy, and compete in friendly matches. Fragrance pouches, intricately designed and filled with aromatic herbs, were also sold as tokens of well-wishing and protection, reflecting traditional Chinese customs. Adding to the experience was the opportunity to enjoy &lsquo;nianbing&rsquo;, traditional Chinese snacks that offered a delicious taste of the festive season. Additionally, students had the opportunity to purchase and wear traditional Chinese accessories, such as hairpins, hair sticks and bracelets enhancing the embracement of meaningful traditions of Chinese culture in a personal way.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/images/67b8442e8ddb7_1740129326.jpg" alt="" width="560" height="840" />There was also symbolic decorations, including a wishing board that allow students to write wishes on cards and pinning them on the wall &ndash; in hopes that all dreams will come true in the new year. Apart from that, there was also food treats that were served during the night, such as oden and milk tea. Throughout the night, occasional karaoke also occurred during the event, with students singing different types of festive songs, showering the night with more festive vibes of Chinese New Year.The Chinese Cultural Night 2025 at KYUEM was not just an event&mdash;it was a meaningful celebration of cultural diversity, a night where students embraced new traditions and gained a deeper understanding of the Chinese community&rsquo;s values. By immersing themselves in activities that promoted cultural awareness and mutual respect, students left with a renewed sense of connection to one another. "As challenging as I found transitioning, it was an incredibly rewarding experience."<h2> Studying at KYUEM</h2>Joel&rsquo;s two years at KYUEM were defined by a supportive community, dedicated teachers, and an environment encouraging personal and academic growth. For him, it was the people who made KYUEM truly special.From the start, Joel was surrounded by friends who pushed each other to achieve their best. This collaborative spirit was crucial as he adjusted to the steep transition from SPM to A-Levels. However, he soon found his footing through KYUEM&rsquo;s Peer Tutoring Programme, scheduling weekly one-on-one sessions with senior tutors."I remember being hesitant at first to sign up, but my first tutor, Xi Ting, really changed my perspective. Although it was beyond the A-Level syllabus, she used her expertise and research experience to guide him.This kind of personalised attention was made possible by KYUEM&rsquo;s small class sizes, which encouraged a more engaging and interactive learning environment. Joel especially valued how his teachers took the time to check on his understanding and treat students like family. Their constant encouragement, paired with small rewards like treats, helped keep him motivated and confident.With the unwavering support of his peers and teachers, Joel chose to focus on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics for his A-Levels, knowing these subjects would be essential for his goal of pursuing Chemical Engineering. Thanks to KYUEM&rsquo;s strong sense of community and personalised attention, Joel was predicted 4A*, setting a solid foundation for his future.Outside of academics, Joel was actively involved in student-led activities, finding the Student Services Department incredibly supportive of his initiatives. One of his key achievements was founding the first-ever E-Sports Club at KYUEM.Noticing a gap in student life, Joel pitched the idea to the department, which quickly helped him get the club up and running. With their support, Joel and his committee organised KYUEM&rsquo;s first E-Sports Carnival, featuring games like Valorant, MLBB, Marvel SNAP and FIFA.&nbsp;Beyond the E-sports club, KYUEM&rsquo;s vibrant and diverse environment allowed Joel to experience Malaysia&rsquo;s cultural richness firsthand. They&rsquo;re not just knowledgeable &mdash; they&rsquo;re genuinely invested in the success of their students. Through nearly 40 hours of talks, UR helped Joel with everything from selecting the right courses to fine-tuning his personal statements. On October 26, 2024, four 18 years old students from KYUEM (Shafryq, Muiz, Aqil and Liaw) - under the group name KY FLOPS (Financial Leaders Optimising Profitable Strategies), achieved the incredible feat of being crowned champions of the Young CEO Challenge 2024. With the theme Maximising Value: Investment Strategies for Tomorrow, the competition opened numerous educational opportunities in accounting and economics. It required in-depth analysis of financial statements, stock valuation, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance within the corporate sector. <img class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil" style="width: 560px;" src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/8c8aaf0dc2470f8e5f5778cc9f78e337ebca2e37.jpeg" /> As first-year A Level students with no professional background in accounting, stepping up for the Young CEO Challenge was no easy task. Their formidable competition made the experience even more daunting. This required all four students to step out of their comfort zones and explore the ACCA syllabus to tackle the questions presented with maximum accuracy. In the beginning, on September 22, 2024, the first stage of the Young CEO Challenge required participants to undergo a trading simulation orchestrated by the Professional Accounting Society (PACE). It consisted of five different stages, each influenced by varying circumstances affecting stock valuations. Despite having minimal prior knowledge of such scenarios, the team's eagerness to learn proved fruitful. They achieved an impressive score of 87%, qualifying them among the top eight teams for the final round. In preparation for the final round, held on October 19, 2024, the finalists were invited to a coffee chat session with experienced real estate investment managers boasting over 20 years of experience. During this session, they were presented with a case study focusing on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). The participants had to analyse real REITs in Malaysia, including Tower, Hektar, Atrium, and Amanahraya REIT. The event began on the evening of 30th August at 5 pm, with a series of traditional games that transported participants back to a simpler time, offering a nostalgic and interactive experience for everyone involved.Students eagerly took part in classic Malaysian games like Batu Seremban, Congkak, and Gasing, which were set up around the campus. These traditional games were not just fun but also served as a cultural reminder of the past, connecting students with the games their parents and grandparents played during their youth. The competitive yet friendly atmosphere made the experience both exciting and heart-warming, with participants bonding over shared experiences and memories.By 7 pm, the focus of the evening shifted to food, with a bustling food market opening at 8 pm. The market, featuring seven different booths, offered a variety of delicious treats, providing something for every taste. The KY Culinary Arts Club showcased their culinary prowess with items like sagu, onde-onde, and spaghetti, while Diamond House delighted visitors with handmade dumplings. On the night of Wednesday, 26th June 2024, during semester break, the first discussion on planning the Prophet Remembrance Week (PRW) took place. This marked the beginning of months of preparation to celebrate Rabiul Awal, the month in which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born. The high committee of the Musolla community (MUSCOM) announced the launch of the inaugural PRW at KYUEM, Lembah Beringin, with meticulous efforts from all divisions of Muscom.Throughout his life, he faced numerous challenges, including the loss of his loved ones, rejection from his community, and physical harm. Yet he exemplified resilience, responsibility, trustworthiness, and gentleness in his teaching and spreading of Allah's message.He is the ultimate role model sent by Allah as a sign of His mercy. Allah describes him in the Quran: &ldquo;And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds&rdquo; (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:107).The week began with a casual 'sembang sirah' by Brother Hafiz on a Saturday night, increasing their knowledge of our Prophet&rsquo;s background and life before the revelations were brought upon him (peace be upon him). This marked the start of the week, smoothing the curve of entering the blessed month and week, reaching its peak on the day of Maulidur Rasul.Throughout the Prophet Remembrance Week, they engaged KYUEM students with poster reflections on four key themes: bravery, integrity, trustworthiness, and compassion. Stories of the Prophet&rsquo;s honesty and integrity inspired us to embody these values daily.&nbsp;Tirelessly, the research team began their work by looking for sources and necessary information based on the four themes of the characteristics of the Prophet. Consisting of only three members, they utilized their break time to assemble and organise it. The same enthusiasm can also be observed in the Prophet's sports team, where they reached out to a nearby agency for possible collaboration on archery and swimming classes.Also involved in the early preparation was the sales team, which they were tasked with arranging the sale of s'mores, part of which was for fundraising; this fitting into the PRW is due to the hadith &ldquo;The best of the businessmen are those who are kind and honest.&rdquo; (Al-Bukhari). This teaches us from the basics to practise business with honesty and integrity within all communities. During the sale, many words of the Prophet were displayed on the walls of the classroom where the s'mores were made and sold, serving as a ground for dakwah too.The bond of the sales members is undeniable as they synergised their energy and time to ensure that the pre-orders of s'mores were completed and delivered to customers safely. The event took place a few weeks after the registration of the juniors, and we aimed to create a harmonious ambience for the juniors to embrace.&nbsp;<img class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil" style="width: 560px;" src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/107ea58e3210ded541bb7dadec521f725bb5ebb0.jpg" />On the evening of 10th September, a swimming class was conducted as an interactive application of the Prophet&rsquo;s sports, led by En. Sabtu, and was joined by 15 participants (boys only). It served as a checkpoint for deepening the bond between seniors and juniors while engaging in sunnah. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, &ldquo;And whoever loves my sunnah has loved me, and whoever loves me will be with me in paradise." It was a short session where students sit down and listen about our beloved prophet in their busy schedules. The talk well received, and it was ended with a congregated (jamaah) Isya&rsquo; prayer.<img class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil" style="width: 560px;" src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/2fd2a15051504c5bf629a42f6976d18d67625651.jpg" />To strive to remember and honour him will never be wasted in the eyes of Allah, no matter how small it is. Thus, a group of 12 members united to enhance the celebration of love for our Prophet by organising a qasidah night. The melodious qasidah enlivened the night as peers from both seniors and juniors gathered in the surau to express their deep appreciation for the Prophet. The event went smoothly, given that they faithfully practised for the night, posting teasers in the Muslim group as a means of promotion. The sales team was tasked with managing sales, while Syumul was responsible for designing and condensing the information into a three-part poster, and Syutask managed the printing, laminating, and pasting of the posters. This shows synchronised teamwork and effort from all members, who are high-spirited in contributing to the preparations for a week's worth of programmes and activities in remembering Muhammad (peace be upon him).Each member contributed their skills, from research and sales to the event&rsquo;s organisation, fostering a spirit of unity and shared purpose. Through various activities, including sports and qasidah night, we deepened our understanding of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his values of bravery, integrity, and compassion. This celebration not only honoured his legacy but also strengthened the bonds among students, creating an Islamic atmosphere for all.

Additionally, navigating the language transition&mdash;starting in English, switching to Bahasa Melayu, and then back to English for A-Levels&mdash;posed a significant challenge. Yet, Hanis embraced these challenges as part of the adventure.<h2 style="text-align: justify; margin: 12.0pt 0cm 12.0pt 0cm;">A Day in the Life at KYUEM</h2>&ldquo;My experience at KYUEM was like stepping into a world brimming with ambition and drive. Mathematics and Physics were natural choices, reflecting her confidence and passion from high school, while Economics and History offered new intellectual challenges and broadened her academic horizons.This strategic selection not only showcased her versatility but also provided her with a solid foundation in analytical and problem-solving skills, perfectly aligning with her aspirations. He also participates in activities organised by the House of Diamond, such as fundraising, football friendlies and Bangsawan nights.Progressing through A-levels Yuganesh excelled academically during his A-levels, taking on Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Computing. Outside the classroom settings, they have various sports venues such as a swimming pool, squash courts, gymnasiums and many more. &ldquo;Overall, it is a good place for students to learn, grow, and become independent,&rdquo; Nur Izzati says.Balancing academia and co-curricular activitiesNur Izzati chose to undertake three subjects for her A-level studies, driven by her passion for Chemistry and her aspiration to further her education in that field. She scored well by attaining an A* for Chemistry, A for Computing and B for Physics. Initially, she enrolled in Mathematics, but she later made a calculated decision to drop the subject, as it was not a mandatory subject for the degree she wanted to pursue.On the other hand, Nur Izzati was actively involved in co-curricular activities, particularly those centred around dancing. She found joy in expressing herself through movement, immersing herself in the rhythm and spirit of the dance. She represented KYUEM by performing in numerous events, including their renowned Bangsawan night. &ldquo;Participating in such events was always enjoyable and provided opportunities to meet new people. With guidance from her personal tutor and input from college teachers, she refined it several times before submitting it for review.&ldquo;The support I received from the Higher Education team and the collaborative effort of the entire college was instrumental in my successful university applications,&rdquo; she says. Initially securing all five of her university applications, she reflects on the pivotal moment when a representative from the University of Sheffield visited the college. Facilitated by the admin team&rsquo;s arrangements, this encounter solidified her decision to enrol there.Nur Izzati acknowledges that KYUEM helped her pursue her dream undergraduate programme, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She is grateful for being equipped with competent teachers who always have answers to her non-exhaustive list of questions. He credited much of his development to the invaluable guidance provided by his exceptional teachers.Tan’s journey, on the other hand, displayed a profound transformation from viewing grades as the sole measure of success to cherishing personal growth and achievements. “It took me some time to adapt and acknowledge that one’s academic grades do not define one’s abilities,” she confessed. “Surrounded by ambitious people, it gave me the courage to dream big and take action to achieve my goals.”Sharmmen's time at KYUEM taught him the importance of personal academic growth and self-directed focus. “I would have to say that you shouldn’t compare yourself to your peers, as is often the case in secondary school. On the delightful evening of November the 25th, the Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) Bangsawan Night 2023 unfolded with a warm welcome extended to distinguished guests, including the special guest Datuk Amran Hafiz bin Affifudin, Chairman of UEM Group. The event, hosted by Ayesha Hannah and Jasim Aziz, aimed to showcase and preserve Malay cultural heritage through the annual cultural performance, "The Bangsawan Night".The night commenced with a prayer recitation by Taufiq Lu Bin Asmadi, setting a peaceful tone for the ceremony. The welcoming speech by Mr. Sharmmen Raj, the Director of Bangsawan, expressed gratitude to the attendees and set the stage for the CEO of Kolej Yayasan UEM's speech by Puan Mazyu Sherina Yusof. Her speech emphasised the importance of preserving Malay traditions and cultural heritage. The first performance by the House of Sapphire, depicted the legend of "Puteri Gunung Ledang," exploring themes of love, loyalty, and sacrifice. The emotional and captivating show was followed by the House of Courage, Diamond, presented the tale of "Cucuk Sanggul: Sumpahan Kasih Puteri," receiving praise for its emotional depth. After an intermission, Garnet showcased the legend of Mahsuri, delivering a beautifully emotional performance that captivated the audience. The House of Honour, Topaz, concluded the night with the story of "Puteri Walinong Sari," leaving the audience eager to discover the winner. The coveted Best Director Award was presented to deserving recipients.The moment of truth arrived with the announcement of the Bangsawan Night 2023 winners. The House of Enthusiasm, Garnet, emerged as the overall champion, claiming the Bangsawan trophy. Individual awards and prizes were also distributed, including cash prizes, hampers, and the prestigious Bangsawan trophy.The special guests, including Datuk Amran Hafiz Bin Affifudin, Yang Mulia Tunku Dato’ Paduka Ja’afar Laksmana Bin Tunku Nong, and Dato Mohamed Nasri Sallehuddin, graced the stage to present awards and express their appreciation. Bangsawan Night 2023

On October 28, 2023, 37 Muslim students of KYUEM embarked on a field trip to the Nasyrul Quran Complex and Islamic Art Museum Malaysia. This Islamic Educational Field Trip was organised by Musolla Community (MUSCOM) 23/24 with the objectives of learning about the practises and history of Islam in an engaging and reflective way while incorporating the teachings of the Quran and Hadiths every step of the way.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/07a04ef5376d58bbd47c69b5c02d4f151fcd08b4.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">Upon arrival at our first destination, the Nasyrul Quran Complex, the world&rsquo;s second-largest Quran production centre, we were gathered inside the hall to receive a briefing from our tour guide. They also introduced us to Yayasan Restu, the back-bone organisation of the Nasyrul Quran Complex. We kicked off our visit here with a brief explanation of the 10-step Quran production method. We were amazed to know that a Quran required at least 8-10 years to be produced. Then, we were given a chance to roam around the complex, seeing multiple ancient Quranic scriptures, artefacts, and replicas of Sahabah&rsquo;s swords from decades ago. After that, we listened to a detailed talk about Quran production before we had our lunch at the cafe.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/243e6738a90d95270b1dfe22e0861d31dae0213e.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">After congregational Dhuhr prayer at the surau, we continued our journey to the Islamic Art Museum Malaysia. Before we arrived there, our president held a reflection session about the previous visit with all the participants in the bus using Padlet, making sure that everyone learned something from the visit.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/5c18afdf5ac404eec9feea16055f0c3d43f82551.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"><img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/14361a55f349540bc8cdcea124b65a9a9a6affd1.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">When we arrived at the Islamic Art Museum Malaysia, we took some pictures together first before we were divided into three groups with a tour guide for each group. The tour around the museum took around 60 minutes, during which we were introduced to many antique and ancient artefacts from all around the world, including weaponry, defensive equipments, and jewellery. The artefacts are mostly from Islamic eras and regions. The tour guides explained each item in detail, which sometimes sparked some in-depth conversations between the tour guide and the students regarding its uses and relations to Islam. There are also miniature replicas of the world&rsquo;s famous mosques and monuments.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/b21013b8661b44109fc29d83c8cf1340b05cbe12.jpg" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">The trip ended successfully. We then stopped by Mid Valley to have some dinner and pray. Overall, the trip managed to achieve its objectives, explicitly and implicitly. Although it was tiring, the camaraderie between seniors and juniors made the trip more enjoyable and fun. Around 8 p.m., all participants went back to KYUEM by bus.

Coordinating trips to the National Heart Institute, arranging a world organ donation talk and spearheading a blood donation drive exposed me to the healthcare profession.“I had the chance to interact with professionals such as doctors, nurses and researchers. This not only prepared me for the working world but also broadened my horizons, providing insights into the medical field and the importance of community health.”Preparation for higher educationAs a scholar under Yayasan Khazanah, Flonna has the privilege of being supported in her application to universities on her sponsor’s exclusive university list. KYUEM has played a significant role in preparing her for higher education, particularly in terms of university application and guidance.The school's University Guidance Counsellor, Puan Kasthuri and Ms Asiah, have been instrumental in her higher education preparation. They offered valuable guidance and support throughout the university application process. Their expertise and experience were crucial in helping her understand the nuances of applying to universities, regardless of their location.The institution goes a step further by offering individual support, through which counsellors assist students with personalised advice and recommendations based on their academic and career goals. Discovering Life at KYUEM - A Glimpse into Campus Culture

This three-day, two-night expedition is a practice and training expedition in preparation for their full, qualifying expedition which will take place in late January around Gopeng in Perak, as part of their DofE Silver Award. The trial expedition is led by our Award Leader, Mr Boler, who instructs and trains the groups as they practise navigating a tricky route through the wild countryside of plantations, durian orchards and rainforest around Lembah Beringin, Kerling and Kalumpang in Hulu Selangor. Before heading off on the expedition, the Silvers underwent 8 weeks of training in campcraft, map reading and compass navigation, catering and nutrition, first aid and safety procedures. Mr Boler directed Silver 1 in their navigation of the tricky network of back roads, and Mr Azhar, DofE Assistant and Medical Officer, and Mrs Boler accompanied Silver 2, with Matt Hunt driving the vital support van carrying drinking water supplies and medical equipment. Once through the kampung, Silver 2 then led the navigation, with Mr Boler overseeing, through wild open scrubland, up and down steep slippery slopes, on narrow paths cut through thick vegetation and along winding palm oil plantation tracks to the first campsite, a kampung football field between oil palm blocks at Ladang Kerling, arriving about 7pm. The Silvers rapidly pitched their tents then settled in for a dry and relaxing evening cooking dinner, games and chat. Mr Boler camped with the students for security and we had a pleasant, undisturbed evening and night.<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/3ed8bd27f68ce19c1220c15723c580b4bb9a116c.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">On Saturday, after a pleasant, mostly dry, night, the Silvers struck camp and departed up the winding road to Kerling at 8:45am, accompanied by Matt, Cindy Tham and Mrs Boler, with Khairol driving the support van all day. Once at Kerling town, with Mr Boler once again instructing, they crossed the railway line via a narrow foot motorcycle bridge, which gave a fabulous view of the landscape of mountains to the east, and then trekked up through the kampung back roads to Kerling Hot Spring and a rest stop at the side of Sungai Kerling. From the hot spring the gallant Silvers trekked uphill into the edges of the forested hills and along narrow paths through the rainforest leading to mixed orchard, durain orchards and fish lakes of Mai Integrated Farmland, stopping beside one of the large fish lakes for lunch. After lunch (Matt and Cindy returned to college) the Silvers trekked through the sawmills and chicken farms to the main road, Route 1, then north up to Kalumpang and east again to the campsite at Pasir Puteh Resort, accompanied by Lynda, Azhar and Mr Boler. The day was mostly dry and clouded with some sunshine and we arrived at the campsite at about 5pm, where a pleasant, dry night was spent, Mr Azhar stayed over at the campsite.&nbsp;<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/6a8c400ec7f85da444d9753462e813de3dff470c.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib"><img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/a9edab501ad32ed115491baf5cff0a5db33b8f1d.JPG" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">On Sunday morning, after breakfast, the Silvers were taken by lorry at 9:30am to the main Kalumpang Resort where they enjoyed the challenge of completing an obstacle course winding its way up and down the muddy hillside. Once back at Pasir Puteh it was time for lunch and striking camp before trekking back down via Route 1 to the Five petrol station, accompanied by Cindy and Lynda. After a prayer and drinks break, the Silvers trekked south through the plantations, accompanied by Azhar and Mr Boler giving instructions again, all the way back to Ladang Kerling where the expedition finished and the bus, driven by Asri, was waiting to take them back to college. Expedition successfully completed!&nbsp;<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/2044d69a6f79a2fbbde7336ab18755a45efd7f84.jpg" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">Along the way, one Silver suffered from a little heat exhaustion on Saturday and Sunday and was rested in the van for some of the journey, but completed the weekend successfully. Another student suffered pains in his back and shoulders from carrying a heavy backpack, something which he will need to prepare better for on the Qualifying Expedition. A few other students suffered blisters, and on the Sunday afternoon Silver 1 and Mr Boler were attacked by wasps, two of the students suffering stings which were treated by Azhar with no further problem. These are the normal challenges faced on a tough expedition like this, but, with good preparation, no serious illness or injuries resulted. Next stop, the Qualifier!!&nbsp;

The CPN celebrated the diverse and rich cultures in Malaysia.&nbsp;<img src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/postimages/6540aae9f0d734e57ea830b815ec426572d9ef88.jpg" style="width: 560px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib">The night started sharp at 8 pm at the Great Hall. The festivities began once the Principal, Mr. David Vroege accompanied by the Senior Leadership Team took their seats in the hall. The first agenda of the night was a speech by the principal, followed by the recitation of prayers and a welcoming speech by the Director, Ishwaar Alagesan. The night continued by showcasing the various cultures in Malaysia through the talents of the KYUEM students. There was a multitude of performances including but not exclusive to singing, traditional dances, and traditional instrumental performances. Students of batches 25.0 and 26.0 were seen swaying and singing along to the melodious and rhythmic songs. The central theme of the evening, titled &ldquo; Jewels of the Past: Treasure Unearthed,&rdquo; not only symbolised the harmonious unity of Malaysia&rsquo;s diverse cultures but also had special relevance for the four houses at KYUEM: Sapphire, Diamond, Topaz, and Garnet, as they came together as a cohesive group.
