Students who are interested to become journalists, radio deejays or bloggers should not miss out on Star Education Fair happening next weekend.
Youtuber Reuben Kang will be sharing some industry insights at the Star Education Fair 2014 happening at KLCC this 14 & 15 June.
The fair will feature YouTube personality Reuben Kang, Red FM deejay Jeremy Teo and The Star photojournalist Kevin Tan. These speakers will discuss all about media and the creative industry. Moderating this career counselling session is R.AGE editor Ian Yee.
"The speakers are prominent in the local media industry and have a lot of experience beyond what they are known for. The three will share their experiences and talk about the different facets of the industry. We will also be discussing how important education is for a career in media as well as how to get experience outside of education to supplement your career," Yee said.
Yee said many parents have doubts about their children venturing into media but he hoped that the talk and the Q&A session would help dispel some of the concerns.
"Being in the media industry is a very rewarding career as it presents opportunities to make a difference and spread positive things. In this day and age, media practitioners who are entrepreneurial can get the best of both worlds - enjoy creating content while earning a decent living," he added.
The Star Education Fair will be held on 14 and 15 June at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 11am to 7pm. Admission is free. For more information click this link http://afterschool.my/TheStarEduFair/
