Build your career in the creative content industry with APU

Film and TV productions contributed greatly to the national GDP last year. The industry contributed about RM2.9 billion to the Malaysian economy. The industry at the moment supports over 11,000 jobs which is expected to increase in the next few years.

Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari was quoted saying that the Malaysian creative industry brought in over RM564.89mil in export revenue, with films such as War Of The Worlds: Goliath, Vikingdom and Life Of Pi making waves overseas.

Realising the potential of the country to become a regional film hub, the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) launched new courses in product design, animation and visual effects:

  • BA (Hons) Animation
  • BA (Hons) Product Design
  • BA (Hons) VFX: Visual Effects and Concept Design
  • BA (Hons) Advertising and Brand Management at APIIT

The new courses are offered directly by APU and APIIT Education Group's longest standing partner, Staffordshire University, UK.

During the launch of the new courses, last 10 May, APU hosted the "Design Preview: Love your Creativity - an interactive event for students and parents who wished to explore the career opportunities in the creative content industry. A workshop also took place in which participants understood more of the stages of production.

Professor Michael Gunn, Vice Chancellor of Staffordshire University, UK, officiated the event together with Datuk Dr Parmjit Singh, CEO of APIIT Education Group and Professor Ron Edwards, Deputy VC of APU.
