These courses usually help students understand the history of Communications, Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations and all of these make them better prepared for the world of PR. For this work field, it is imperative that PR managers have excellent public speaking and writing skills, is interested in people and current affairs, and has good organisational skills.
The working hours of a Public Relations Manager is the typical 9 am to 5 pm office hours, but you would have to attend events and be on call for any PR crisis. Besides that, you will also be required to work overtime to prepare for any events or meeting deadlines. With that said, you may need to work on weekends and holidays, anytime your client calls you, you have to be present.
