What skills do you need to become an Event Planner?
As an Event Planner, you will need to have a good grasp of your connection such as knowing around popular venues, who to contact for specific items and how soon you need to make reservation on a location or materials. This will save a lot of your time and believe it, time is so precious in this career that you can’t even afford wasting a minute away!
The bigger your network, the more beneficial it is! Getting to know more people means having more sources for items and services from props to food and even venues. It will also be easier for you to secure multiple things such as venue and sponsorship when necessary. Besides that, you will be able to exchange or obtain feedback and advice easily through the network.
Your supplier cancelled on you last minute, the weather forecast states that it will be raining tomorrow and your event is at the outdoors, how are you going to fix this mess? Like it or not, you will need to fix it by hook or by crook. In addition, it is also always better to have backup plans thought of prior to the event day. Most if not all unexpected circumstances cannot be predicted and you should always anticipate for the worst.
