If you are planning to work as an engineer and get professional engineering accreditation in both UK and Malaysia, great news! The University of Southampton Malaysia is opening its gates to aspiring SPM leavers for their Engineering Foundation Programme April Intake. Upon completion of the foundation in Malaysia, you can apply to their degree programmes, both in Malaysia and UK.
The Engineering Foundation Year at the University of Southampton Malaysia is a one year integrated preparatory course that is custom-designed and delivered to prepare students for entry to our BEng or MEng degree programmes, both in Malaysia and in the UK.
The curriculum in Malaysia is similar to that delivered at the UK campus. By studying at University of Southampton Malaysia, students will obtain a world-class education from one of the best engineering schools at a fraction of the cost.
On successful completion of the Foundation programme, students are offered automatic progression to their undergraduate degree programme.

The University of Southampton Malaysia is a branch campus of the University of Southampton, UK that is currently ranked 97th in the QS World University Rankings 2020 and is a founding member of the UK’s renowned Russell Group.
The University is currently based in EduCity, Iskandar, an elite multiversity complex in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, but will be expanding to a new campus in 2021 located within EcoWorld also in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. Students pursuing an undergraduate Master of Engineering at the university will experience a split-campus 2+2 programme where they will spend two years in Malaysia and another two years in the UK.
The University is ranked fourth in the UK for Mechanical Engineering (The Complete University Guide, 2020), sixth in the UK for Aeronautics and Astronautics and third in the UK for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2020).
All applicants to University of Southampton Malaysia will be eligible for up to 100% scholarships. These are based on academic excellence and achievement and are open to both Malaysian and international applicants. Scholarship is non-transferable and only applies whilst the recipient remains a registered, full-time, active student at the University of Southampton Malaysia for the duration of the programme.
Scholarship recipients must complete years 1 & 2 of the Undergraduate programme at the University of Southampton Malaysia after completion of the Engineering Foundation Year.
The recipient will need to refund the scholarship amount in full in the event of a change of university.
Scholarships do not include living expenses and are a reduction of fees.

The scholarship options cannot be compounded. Only the financial incentive with the highest amount will apply.
All applicants eligible for the scholarship are required to pay the RM2,000 deposit to confirm their place at University of Southampton Malaysia. The deposit is used for tuition fee payment of a subsequent year (Year 1 or Year 2), and is not refundable should a student decide to leave the university before graduation with a BEng or MEng degree, regardless of whether or not the student still qualifies for any financial incentive at University of Southampton Malaysia in a future year.
