VMIUC to operate in Pasir Gudang by year's end

Vinayaka Missions University College (VMIUC), an Indian based institution, is the first university college in Johor to offer dentistry. It will take in only 50 students. Currently, Malaysia has 15 institutions of higher learning offering studies in dentistry.

Aside from the dental college in Pasir Gudang, Johor, VMIUC will have a post-graduate medical faculty and a distance learning faculty in the Klang Valley and a pre-university, arts and science, business and management, engineering, etc. campus in Penang. VMIUC's Vice Chancellor is Dato' Ishak Abdul Razak, formerly from University Malaya Dental Faculty. The distance learning faculty will be headed by Deputy Vice Chancellor Profesor Nagarajah Lee who previously was the Deputy Dean of Center for Graduate Studies at Open University Malaysia.

Penang International Dental College (PIDC), Malaysia's first stand alone full-fledged dental college also belongs the same group. Students who enroll at PIDC will be based in Salem, India for their pre-clinical studies for 2 years before continuing the final 3 years of clinical studies in PIDC campus in Butterworth.
