UNISEL students showcase academic excellence

Two Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) students emerged top in the country in Engineering and Accountancy, adding another feather in the cap for the varsity.The top-notch students, Sufi Habibullah Roslan, 24, a Mechanical Engineering student and Berjilia Jung Im Kim, 24, from the Business Faculty, were given the prestigious awards in a dinner recently.Sufi, who graduated recently with a Bachelor's degree, was recognised for his innovative design and ideas in his final year project by the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), a professional body. Other than his remarkable CGPA, he received a Gold Medal Award for his project at IEM's 53rd annual dinner in Kapar, Klang.

"This is not my success alone but should be shared by all students as this proves that UNISEL is able to produce successful and talented graduates," he said.Meanwhile, Berjilia was selected as the Best Accountancy Student by the Malaysian Institution of Accountant (MIA). Eleven students from other universities nationwide were also given awards for their achievements.Berjilia, from Sri Aman Sarawak, also received the Dean's Award for achieving a CGPA of 3.8 for eight consecutive semesters throughout her study in UNISEL.

"UNISEL proves to be one of the best universities in Malaysia for its ability to produce quality graduates in different fields," she said.Both received RM1,000 each from the Selangor government for their excellence. Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim gave away the awards.
