<div class="title"><strong>Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has stated that they are sticking to SPM and STPM results ONLY for their enrollment process, still not recognizing the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).</strong></div><div class="title"></div><div class="title"><a href="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/images/getadvice/43324/598bf70c5635c.jpg"><img class="size-full wp-image-43325 aligncenter fr-fic fr-dii" src="https://img.afterschool.my/storage/uploads/images/getadvice/43324/598bf70c5635c.jpg" alt="1.1" width="600" height="400"></a></div><div class="title">Vice Chancellor of UMS, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Harun Abdullah said that UEC is not accepted for the admission in UMS because its characteristics are slightly distinct compared to the grading system for SPM and STPM.Nevertheless, there are other alternatives available to enter UMS. One of it is to take up a three months Intensive English Preparatory Programme (IEPP) in case students do not have the chance to take TOEFL or IELTS.</div>

Established in the year 1994, it has 13 schools and 9 research institutes as of now and it is the ninth public university to be set up in Malaysia. UMS consists of three campuses currently. The first campus was sited at the site of Sabah Foundation Community College (KKYS) on the grounds of the Sabah Foundation itself. In 1999, UMS opened an International Campus in Labuan and an Agriculture Campus at Sandakan in 2011.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Despite its relative newness, UMS is equipped with world-class facilities. It also boasts its own UMS Museum that features culturally-significant exhibitions and an impressive sports complex. <p>UMS is also heavily involved in environmental concerns. As of September 2020, UMS signed an MOU with &nbsp;Sime Darby Plantation Berhad to translate locally bred knowledge into actions on the ground, giving an opportunity to the university to be a part of the effort in restoring forests in oil palm landscape.</p>
