Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has stated that they are sticking to SPM and STPM results ONLY for their enrollment process, still not recognizing the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC).
Vice Chancellor of UMS, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Harun Abdullah said that UEC is not accepted for the admission in UMS because its characteristics are slightly distinct compared to the grading system for SPM and STPM.Nevertheless, there are other alternatives available to enter UMS. One of it is to take up a three months Intensive English Preparatory Programme (IEPP) in case students do not have the chance to take TOEFL or IELTS.
