UniRIDE Program offers carpool services and parking lots to minimize the number of cars and insufficient parking spaces in public universities.
The UniRIDE Program by CMS Consortium Ecotour Sdn Bhd (CMS) will be implemented in four public universities namely Universiti Malaya(UM), Universiti Teknologi Mara(UiTM), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) dan Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).
Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOE) Datuk Seri Ir Dr Zaini Ujang stated that MOE believes that the UniRIDE Program can increase the quality of transportation in the universities, and at the same time facilitate the university students in terms of not having to line up and wait too long for public transports.
"Students can book the cars using a special app. By using this service, students' safety is guaranteed as UniRIDE offers personal insurance coverage to its customers," he said when giving a speech at the UNiRIDE program Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement Exchange, yesterday.
