Now, here is an inspiring story that would help motivate you.
The situation in Iraq and Syria is a humanitarian problem that is impacting the lives of at least 10 million people. There are more than 5 million displaced people, many of them being children and young adults. The displacement caused many people to miss out on their education. So, there have been lots of efforts to help these people gain a skill that would help them build their future.
The skill of choice, in many cases, were programming and coding.
In northern Iraq, a humanitarian mission based in New York provides training programmes for the displaced students with funding from the United Nations Development Programme.
Some of the trainees are highly educated but cannot find a job and are struggling with their current unfortunate circumstances. But many of them haven’t even finished college.
The programme is helping many of these students learn English, as it is the main language for the global programming languages, web basics and move to more complex aspects of coding like object-oriented programming.
Here is the amazing thing, some of these students are already receiving offers from global names and many of them have their lives turned around because of Programming.
Check out our list of 20 skills you can learn without going to college and still earn good money.
