Contribute your laughter for free education at Allan Perera's Giggle Charity Show sponsored by Brickfields Asia College (BAC).
This week, the Brickfields Asia College (BAC) sponsors and runs the Giggle Show to source funds for accessible and free education for students. All proceeds of the show goes to EduNation, which runs a non-profit online repository of videos and exercises that are free for secondary children in Malaysia.
Managing Director and Senior Lecturer of BAC Raja Singham, who launched the show on the first night, has also played a major role in developing the web-based platform geared towards sustainable education. “We believe in making education accessible and at the same time, we are concerned about quality of education. The purpose of EduNation is to provide every Malaysian student with a free and comprehensive online educational eco-system,” said Raja Singham.
To date, Edunation has produced more than 2,500 learning videos, hundreds of practices and has co-organised syllabus-focused seminars for Form 1 to Form 5 students.
The show features an entertaining mix of comedy, musicals and performance arts. It begins with a 100-minute musical titled "A Vinyl Invasion" where Allan Perera and his team, the Rocka-Silly-Billies, play classics and old songs including from the likes of Elvis and Joe Cocker. This is mixed with streams of comedy and followed by acts of Malaysian-inspired characters such as Elvis Tan, YB Wan Bedek Wan Temberang, Saudara Kam Mun Ting and Guitar Joe.
The Allan Perera Giggle Charity Show runs until this Sunday (11 October 2015) at PJ Live Arts @ Jaya One. For more information, click here.
