Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, the founder of Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology, passed away today (June 1) at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur. News of his death has been circulating in social media sites since early this morning. The news was then confirmed in a press statement released by Lim Kok Wing University.
The cause of death is still unknown. However, a week ago, he was reported hospitalized after a fall at his home. It was then said that he was recovering from the fall and was in a stable condition.
"With deep sadness we convey the passing of Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Datuk Sri Paduka Dr Lim Kok Wing, our founder president" the statement read.
This was followed by another statement expressing their gratitude for the loving condolences and support extended by so many.
His contribution to the world of creative arts and technology will never be forgotten. He was honored with over 700 awards and the university has attained worldwide recognition over the years . The main campus is located here in Cyberjaya and is notable for being a pioneer in the world of creative technology. There are students from over 165 countries making it one of the most diverse university in Malaysia.
