The Terengganu Health Department has set a deadline of October 2 for all 38,114 Form Four and Five students in the state including those from private schools, Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) and tahfiz centres to receive their first dose of Covid-19 vaccination.
The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) for Adolescents in Terengganu, according to State Health Director Datuk Dr Kasemani Embong, began today, comprising 56 schools that were gradually converted into vaccination centres (PPV).
Those who do not attend school or attend school outside the district can begin to walk-in for vaccine shots at PPV centres and 20 additional health clinics throughout the district.
The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine first dose was given to over 800 pupils from three schools: SMK Padang Negara, SM Agama Atas Sultan Zainal Abidin (SMAASZA) and SMK Sultan Sulaiman.
As for those with health issues, they can get their vaccine during their follow-up exams at local clinics and hospitals.
