The BB1M 2015 was introduced by the Malaysian Ministry of Education aimed at easing the burden of purchasing academic books. In addition, this initiative was intended to foster interest in reading among Malaysians.

BB1M 2015 is valid until June 30, 2015 and eligible students will receive a voucher total of RM 250 each.
There have been reports of BB1M misuse by students and vendors since the the book voucher was introduced and the Malaysian government are now taking steps to prevent it.
Students eligible to receive BB1M:
- Malaysian citizen
- Residing in Malaysia during the BB1M 2015 programme
- Currently studying or retain active status until 31 December 2014
- Currently studying under Form 6, Senior Middle 3, Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM), Vocational College Diploma (Year 3 and 4), Matriculation, Foundation, Asasi, A-Level, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor Degree, Master, PhD and other diploma level and above professional courses which are accredited by the Malaysian government or professional agencies in Malaysia
- Studying at an IPT supervised under the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) or IPT registered under governing laws
- Studying full-time or part-time
Once you have received your BB1M, you need to carry out these steps:
- Students must clearly fill out their name, identity card number and telephone number on the BB1M 2015 voucher while claiming BB1M 2015 at their respective IPT
- Students also need to ensure their BB1M 2015 vouchers have been stamped with the official IPT stamps
- Students should only use their BB1M 2015 in any bookstores participating in the initiative by submitting their BB1M 2015 along with their identification cards
- Students must use all BB1M 2015 worth RM250 for the purchase of academic books, journals and scientific magazines, including all types of reading materials that are beneficial and relevant to their respective field of study only
- Purchases exceeding RM250 will be borne by the students and any additional charges may not be made to the MOE
- The BB1M 2015 are not transferable, redeemable for cash or to be sold to third parties
- The validity period for BB1M 2015 is six (6) months up to June 30, 2015
- Purchase of e-books are allowed for students adhering to conditions previously mentioned
- It is the sole responsibility of students to ensure their BB1M 2015 received from respective institutions are in good condition
- IPT and KPM reserves the right to reject any claims for BB1M 2015 replacement in case of any damage caused by a student's own negligence
- Any loss/damage to BB1M 2015 after the voucher distribution will be the sole responsibility of the student
- Any parties or students found abusing the BB1M 2015 could be penalized, blacklisted and will not be allowed to join the BB1M programme in the future
