PTPTN is no longer blacklisting applicants who fail to repay the loan in a timely manner. Previously, those who failed to pay on time were automatically blacklisted. However, this new government policy change is the reason why many people are choosing PTPTN loans over other loans.
On top of that, PTPTN loans also have lower eligibility requirements set and it is easier to get loan approval compared to other education loans. On the other hand, if you are looking to apply for a scholarship, the competition is intense and you have to be one the best. Therefore, it is safe to say that PTPTN has remained as the most popular education loan among students from various socio-economic backgrounds.
Although the PTPTN application has quite the reputation for easy approval, you should be aware that the loan can also be withdrawn or cancelled at any time. Do you want to know why PTPTN loans are revoked or cancelled? Keep reading this article to find out so that you don't end up making the same mistake. There are many cases in which students had to stop their studies midway due to their loan being withdrawn.
PNG/GPA (pointer) results below 2.00
Your academic results will be the most important factor in determining whether or not you are eligible for any loans. PTPTN is no exception to this. You need to maintain a certain pointer or CGPA every semester without fail.
As a result, you must remain focused on your assignments, lectures, attendance, and examinations throughout each semester until you graduate. Be prepared to struggle and support your own studies if your pointer is less than 2.00. PTPTN will restrict or suspend your loan for the following semester almost immediately if you fail to achieve the pointer set. Refer to the table below for more information on the pointer:
Even if you re-sit for the papers the following semester and perform well, you will not be able to request for the loan money that you were supposed to receive the semester before.
Postponing Studies
Don't worry if you postpone your studies, the loan will be credited as usual every semester. Regardless of the reason, as soon as the application for deferment of studies is approved, PTPTN will automatically defer your loan payment. Loan repayment will only be made after you are confirmed to re-register for studies by the higher education institution you are enrolled in.
Suspended studies by IPT
Finally, if you are suspended by the university, the payment for the suspended semester will not be given. To find out the reasons why students are often suspended, check out our article on 7 signs you will fail at university. In the article, we have shared with you the reasons you may fail or be suspended from your studies, some of which may even seem trivial to you.
