Ready4Work portal to enhance employability of young Malaysian talents

  • New portal features industry-rich content that tackles career and necessary skills required in today's work demands
  • Nearly 500,000 students of government higher learning institutions have access to this new portal

To increse the employability and marketability of young talents in Malaysia, a new portal called Ready4Work was launched today. Ready4Work is created by Talent Corporation (TalentCorp) Malaysia in collboration with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

It aims to equip students with career awareness, industry insights and relevant information together with words of inspiration from industry players such as Accenture, CIMB, Ernst&Young, Intel, Maxis, Maybank, Motorola, PwC, TM. The site's content is provided by PEMANDU, BFM and Graduan.

The portal was launched at UTM, Kuala Lumpur campus by Minister of Higher Education (MoHE), YB Dato Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.In his speech, the Minister said, "The implementation of the Ready4Work portal is in line with the Graduate Employability Blueprint developed by Ministry of Higher Education to enhance the marketability and employability of our young talents in Malaysia."

In his welcoming address, the Pro Chancellor of UTM, YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Dr Salleh Mohd Noor concurred that the collaboration will enhance graduates' awareness of industry's needs. Moreover, it will bring about high impact results that will contribute towards the marketability and employability of young talents.

Ready4Work targets future and fresh graduates of public institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. With the readily available students currently registered as users of MyLinE, a website for studying English, Ready4Work portal is set to benefit nearly half a million users across the nation.

"This project would not have been possible witout the far-sightedness of UTM and MoHE, as well as the generosity of leading Malaysian employers," said TalentCorp CEO Johan Mahmood Merican.

Ready4Work is loaded with multimedia content such as educational videos, story features and downloadable modules for students interested to get a better grasp of real-world scenarios.
