The National Parents-Teachers Assocation (NPTA) urges teachers who are no longer interested in educating and are more interested in selling products to resign.

The president of the NPTA, Datuk Dr Mohamad Ali's reasoning is due to the fact that teachers are

the backbone of the nation and personal affairs would disrupt their focus whilst teaching.

"If the teachers have an interest in business and want to be involved in entrepreneurship, I guess they have to stop being a teacher and focus on full time business so that it does not impair the teaching profession," he said this when commenting on the attitude of some teachers who took the opportunity to trade at the school.

However, he said not all teachers are like that so because most still obey the rules set by the school.

"There are few cases, only 1 or 2, but we are taking steps to advise the parties concerned to guard yourself and maintain order," he said.

Meanwhile, President of the Union of National Education (PUNE) Kamaruzzaman Abdul Razak said

the case of teacher dealers during school hours was a remote issue but not to a level of concern that affects student learning sessions.

"Teachers are still human, but if any parents are less satisfied they can make a complaint through the PTA channels in each school, rather than making an unofficial complaint," he says.
