Private institutions that offer Hospitality Management programmes in Malaysia

500,000 jobs in the hospitality and tourism sector will be available by 2020. We need to have 50,000 graduates of hospitality and tourism annually to fill in these jobs.

Malaysian hospitality and tourism industry is expanding and receiving strong support from the government because this is a second major source of national income and employment to the people. National income from this industry reached RM58.3 billion in 2011. With that said the need for training in tourism and hospitality in upgrading the competencies level of workforce to participate in the industry is very important.

1.7 million people are currently employed in this sector, this account for nearly 14% of all jobs.

UCSI’s Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management has a group of Danish learners studying at UCSIeach year and foreign lecturers visiting the Faculty frequently. Curtin University in Sarawak offers a unique double major programme designed to provide an overall understanding of the principles and processes of tourism, hospitality and event management whilst placing emphasis on the development and application of marketing to meet increasing demand within the expanding tourism, hospitality and event industries. Students who complete this course are eligible to apply for membership with the Australian Marketing Institute.
