The Malaysian Association of Private Colleges and Universities (MAPCU) said it was applying the same procedures and guidelines used for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

Foreign students would have to undergo a medical test in Malaysia. According to MAPCU president Datuk Dr Parmjit Singh, this process was required by the Health Ministry (MOH) about a month ago, and is also being observed by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).

Foreign students who have their visas approved still need to undergo a medical exam, and those who are suspected to have the symptoms will be quarantined and given immediate medical assistance. So far, no cases have been reported.
