  • State appeals for government support to set up new Islamic university college in Perlis and to expedite process of upgrading Risda College to a university college

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu plans to propose a new Islamic university college to be set up in Perlis. He hopes the Federal Government will support this proposal, which in turn will help Perlis become an education hub for the northern states.

He also said he would discuss with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to expedite the process of upgrading Risda College to a university college.

Perlis has four public institutions of higher learning -- Universiti Malaya Perlis, UiTM campus, Institut Pendidikan Guru (Perlis campus) and Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin and one private learning institution -- Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS).
