To retain and improve the number of knowledge workers in the state, Penang has plans to create more programmes for tertiary students.
The new programmes will include study loans, scholarships, and internships.It will be a joint effort by InvestPenang and Penang Career Assistance and Talent (CAT) and multinational corporations (MNCs) will be invited to sponsor.According to InvestPenang Director Datuk Lee Kah Choon (see insert photo), students will be interviewed to find out if they qualify for the study loan or scholarship. Once they finish their tertiary education, these scholars will be offered internship jobs at the MNCs.The plan is expected to finalise in six months.
